Admissions Policy and Procedure

It is our aim at Kings Pre-School to make our setting accessible to all sections of the local community and further afield. We will not discriminate against any family or children due to their social background, colour, race, religion or special needs. We welcome all family members, fathers as well as mothers, grandparents, other carers including childminders, into our group.

We will do this by advertising our setting through leaflet drops and posters in local community venues such as the library and doctors surgeries.

We will admit children, providing spaces are available, the term after they turn two years old.

We arrange our waiting list in order of date of birth, we need to see proof of date of birth.

We take into account other siblings attending the setting.

We will monitor gender, ethnic background and religion to make sure no accidental discrimination takes place.

We will make all our policies known to parents.

We prefer to take in the younger children in the afternoon and the older children in the mornings, however, we will endeavour to give you the session you prefer.

We will write to you giving you your sessions and start date and you will need to confirm that you want your place.

We recommend that you bring your child to our pre-school induction date for a visit before your start date to familiarise them with the setting, staff and routine.

On your child's first day we request you spend half hour with your child's allocated keyworker gaining background information to help us settle your child in.

Your are welcome to stay with your child as long as it takes to settle your child in, please see our settling in policy.
